This year some Zikulans met each other in person once again at the cozy Hinterconti hotel in Bretzenheim (Germany). As usual, Axel welcomed the attendees with a keynote. It is impressive what has happened since the last camp! A cross release of Zikula 1.5 and 2.0 as well as ModuleStudio 1.0, moreover many additional further releases. And several modules have already been converted or are currently the subject of conversion. Zikula is being actively developed for the future!

We also discussed current activities and priorities, and some best practice examples were presented by the attendees. The largest part of the discussion this year was about the “marketing” topic. In this topic the prototype of the new Zikula website was also presented. It is going to present both German and international content for the first time in the whole project’s history. Therefore multi-language possibilities were demonstrated, too.

But we did not only discuss Zikula, but also diligently worked in the afternoon. Michael has the new News module in the works. The attendees convened a coding session in order to further develop the module. The new News module is also used on the new website already (you are currently reading an article from it).

Before the German PostNuke Association held its annual general meeting on the second day, we attended a medieval knights banquet at the Kauzenburg hosted by the Association. A long difficult path has been traveled, therefore the release of Zikula 2 absolutely needed to be celebrated! This was a wonderful party!

The association has elected the new board: Ralf, Axel and Gabriel as chairmen, Nina for the treasurer again and new, Thomas is going to take responsibility for marketing!
